Jonathan Munoz

Product Designer

Born and raised in Mexico, I graduated from the University of Florida with a Master’s in Architecture where I honed my skills in design principles, developing visualizations, and implementing design concepts across multiple mediums and platforms. I am a Product designer, Architectural designer, Strength and Conditioning Coach, and Taco aficionado with over 8 years experience as a designer across multiple industries spanning from architecture, travel, health, fitness tech, sports tech, and sports booking.

Over the years as a designer I have embarked on a path that has led me through various professional contexts, which has cultivated my ability to navigate and adapt to complex systems, structures, and processes. My multidisciplinary background has uniquely equipped me to approach design challenges with creativity, adaptability, and a broad perspective, allowing me to develop impactful solutions that align with both business objectives and user needs. This same exposure to variety of industries and systems allows me to approach problems—whether in product, strategy, or growth—with insights drawn from varied contexts, ensuring thoughtful, innovative, and practical solutions. Some of my recent work is still NDA but I would be more than happy to discuss my work in a one-on-one meeting.

Freelance Designer

Leveraged design expertise to serve clients across various industries, focusing on establishing language consistency across brand identity, product, and marketing across print and digital design platforms. During my time as an independent freelance designer I have led product research mainly focusing on gathering data from user interviews, usability testing, A/B testing and competitive audits. I have also worked within B2B and B2C pre-seed to early stage startup and growth stage startups on multiple scale projects from developing a new brand identity utilizing color theory, and design principles in order to develop new logo, fonts, colors, and digital and print mockups incorporating an early stage design system to working within an established design system directly with Engineers, Lead Designers, Marketing teams, PMs, Directors of Product, Heads of Product, and CEOs optimizing product functionality and new features development to increase user retention and new user conversions across mobile and web.

  • Mobile and Web Redesign: Redesigned UX/UI workflows and interactions for the three feature Fantasy Football tools and pages with heaviest user traffic to increase user interaction numbers and retention across FantasyLife mobile and web platforms

    • Optimized existing Rankings and Start/Sit information by converting data tables and metrics representation into visuals up-to-date with UI sport and gaming trends.

    • Redesigned Draft Champion Settings page and Draft Champion draft room page leveraging the large amount of data available to provide user most relevant information and link to active player profile pages or further relevant information gathered from several links in Fantasy hub.​

Product Designer

  • User Retention Strategies: Collaborated closely with the Lead Product Designer and Product Director to identify and implement high-impact app and web features based on user behavior insights.

  • A/B Testing and User Feedback: Conducted A/B testing and applied findings from user interviews, optimizing interfaces that improved click-through rates, user engagement, and subscription metrics.

  • Asset Creation for Marketing Campaigns: Collaborated with marketing team to produce high-quality product assets and graphics for email campaigns, ad placement, and social engagement resulting in increased user interaction and improved response to feature announcements.

  • New Features and Tools Optimization: Successfully led the design and development of multiple new features and existing high traffic tools optimization by integrating an iterative design that relied on wireframes, mockups, data collected from A/B testing and feedback gathered from user interviews, as well as stakeholders and PM's feedback.

  • Paywall Optimization: Worked with product and engineering teams to enhance new subscriber conversion rates through MVP UX/UI improvements, paywall experience based on collected user interaction data across all platforms.

  • Brand Identity Redevelopment: Defined typography, new logo, color schemes, and visual language, creating a cohesive and recognizable brand identity that appealed to target demographics within healthcare, fitness, and wellness sectors.

  • Interface Design and Prototyping: Designed onboarding wireframes, workflows, automation, and prototypes to ensure seamless user experience across mobile and web platforms.

  • Qualitative Research: Lead surveys, user interviews, and usability testing that informed key product MVP features, architecture, and application utilization goals.

    • Optimized Klerk users entry points to internal data and visualization of large databases to improve in-house sales and marketing performance.

Contributed as designer and managed multiple projects in new construction, renovation, commercial, and residential spaces ensuring alignment with client objectives and budget constraints, from initial concept through project completion. Delivered 3d and 2d visualizations, graphic assets, deck construction, and helped manage website.

Was brought in to take lead designer role for mainly large scale project -- taking the project from concept of initial design and ideation process through to construction documents, while also providing updated 3d renderings and illustrations of design proposals for deck presentations with clients and stakeholders.

Became the lead designer for my team where I focused on designing client-centered spatial experiences within various types of commercial and religious projects, integrating technology, contextual sensibility, brand values, and stakeholders priorities and design preferences.

VFL Wolfsburg 

In partnership with Chattanooga FC, VFL Wolfsburg runs several youth soccer clinics throughout the year for players who are part Chattanooga FC grass-roots program "The Foundation" and CFC academy players. The focus for the clinics revolves around player development --  technical and tactical development -- and coaching education through the implementation of VFL Wolfsburg player development curriculum.

  • Clinic Curriculum: Collaborated with staff on developing youth clinic soccer activities for ages of 6-15 and defining clinic goals. 

  • Training & Coaching: Worked closely with VFL Wolfsburg staff coaching each activity while remaining true to VFL Wolfsburg player development pedagogy.

Project Happy NYC

As one of the head coaches in the program, I oversaw the weekly and monthly programming, determined sessions progressions relevant to the different age groups, and I was one of three coaches in charge of running training sessions, which focused on utilizing grass-roots and youth level soccer activities as a medium for kids with autism and disabilities to improve physical health, social skills, technical skills, and proprioception development.
